- We arrived at Weston Dental and we were greeted in a warm and welcoming manner. We only had to wait 30 minutes and my daughter, Alegre, was taken to an examining room. I was surprised when Dr. Carbunaru came to the reception area and said, "dad, come on back with us". All I can say is that my daughter was delighted to have no more pain and I was amused by how she and Dr. Carbunaru communicated. Grinding my teeth at night and clenching my jaw during the day resulted in daily headaches, face pain, tinnitus, neck pain, and morning jaw stiffness. Even the aid of an appliance provided by a dentist did not check the increasing symptoms that finally brought me to your office. From the moment I came in, the caring and positive attention of your staff assured me that you were aware of patients' needs and their concerns about relief and treatment.
The first visit was so comprehensive; I had both you and your capable and very professional assistant, Garrick Flecha, testing, scanning, and measuring every area affected by the problem. Your questions and comments, even a demonstration of muscle capacity with treatment, convinced me that I was doing the right thing for my health and comfort. It was easy to see how committed you were to your patients' comfort, and your ability to achieve it.
It was not more than three days after I began wearing the orthotic that I realized most of my symptoms were gone. Head and face pain disappeared, and I could feel some actual relaxation in my jaw. Later, after more testing, my jaw muscles proved to be functioning better and more appropriate, which as you told me, would continue with time as better alignment and muscle strength increased.

Then something just short of a miracle happened. I started to receive phone calls from some of the bigger firms like General; Electric and Guidant. After 23 years in this business, news travels fast when someone new is looking for a position.
I went on 5 interviews in 3 weeks. Here's the amazing part. I got 5 offers! I had, for the first time in my career, the opportunity to pick and choose the company with the best location, highest salary and best growth opportunity.
So after I got the offer, I asked my recruiter what was up with the five jobs and five offers in less than a month. The answer I got was that, I dazzled them with my smile. I have read many self help, business type books in my career, and never realized the difference teeth make in landing a job. According the one article I read, a winning smile is the first impression a manager has of your personality. A clean, white smile conveys confidence strength and power (who knew!)
I didn't have a bad smile to start with though it had lost some of its luster as I aged. But this- experience, showed me what a tremendous impact a smile has in beating the competition, securing the job and giving the confidence to do our best, laugh and smile in an interview.
