Fillings »»

A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. If you have a tooth that requires a filling, the dentist will first remove the decayed tooth material, clean the affected area, and then fill the cleaned out cavity with a filling material. A filling helps prevent further decay by closing off any cracks or spaces where bacteria can enter.

There are a variety of filling materials available including gold, silver, plastic and porcelain. The dentist will work with you to determine which material is best, depending on the extent of repair, where in the filling is needed, and cost.

Root Canals »»

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is made necessary when an untreated cavity reaches all the way to the pulp. Treatment may also be needed when deep restorations or trauma to a tooth cause nerve damage. If the pulp is infected, not only is it painful but it will require treatment as it cannot heal on its own. Symptoms that indicate the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. However, sometimes no symptoms are apparent and you may be unaware of any problem until a checkup.

A root canal is performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp and disinfect the canals of the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal is filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has undergone root canal therapy

Tooth Extractions »»

At Weston Dental Care, we want your teeth to last as long as you do. Sometimes, however, a tooth may be so severely damaged that it simply cannot be saved. The tooth may need to be extracted so that we can replace it with an implant or a fixed or removable prosthesis. We'll walk you through the procedure from start to finish, going over every last detail and answering every last question. Before removing the tooth, we'll apply an anesthetic so you won't feel any pain.

Periodontal Treatments »»

Periodontal (gum) disease, including gingivitis and periodontitis, are serious infections that left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. The word periodontal literally means "around the tooth." Periodontal disease is a chronic bacterial infection that affects the gums and bone supporting the teeth.

Periodontal disease can affect one tooth or many teeth. It begins when the bacteria in plaque (the sticky, colorless film that constantly forms on your teeth) causes the gums to become inflamed.

In the mildest form of the disease, gingivitis, the gums redden, swell and bleed easily. There is usually little or no discomfort.

Gingivitis is often caused by inadequate oral hygiene. Gingivitis is reversible with professional treatment and good oral home care.

Sedation »»

If you're feeling a bit uneasy, Weston Dental Care offers local anesthesia, oral sedation, or nitrous oxide to enable you to get the dental care you need without any distress or discomfort. Sedation dentistry is completely safe and totally effective: As waves of tranquility wash over you, the only thing you'll feel is calm. Once the sedative has taken effect, we'll apply a local anesthetic to temporarily block the nerves in the area of your mouth being worked on.

While you are sedated, time passes by quickly: Even a complex procedure that can last for hours only seems to take a few minutes. It is important to remember that you will be sedated but not asleep. But even though you'll be fully awake and alert during the procedure, you'll remember little if anything about it afterwards.

Dental Implants »»

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is been placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for everybody: people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.
While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.
Dental implants are so natural-looking and feeling, you may forget you ever lost a tooth. You know that your confidence about your teeth affects how you feel about yourself, both personally and professionally. Perhaps you hide your smile because of spaces from missing teeth. Maybe your dentures don’t feel secure. Perhaps you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, there is good news! Dental implants are teeth that can look and feel just like your own! Under proper conditions, implants can last a lifetime.

Revitalize Your Smile »»

To revitalize your smile a highly technical process is required with great skills and experience to achieve a natural result. Dentists must learn the techniques in post-graduate courses and then perfect the art through extensive experience.
It takes artistic ability and extensive knowledge to design a revitalized smile. Techniques require precise measurements based upon mouth shape, gum lines, lips, and natural shape of the teeth.

Cosmetic Dental Treatment »»

You know that space between your two front teeth – the one you've had for as long as you can remember? A dentist can make that space disappear – painlessly and effortlessly in one visit. Chipped and cracked teeth can be fixed using the same procedure. Dental bonding, is a simple procedure that adds tooth-colored material to your own tooth so it looks natural and blends right in.

Porcelain Veneers »»

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material, which are bonded to the front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia, and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Porcelain veneers are placed to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth, and to improve a smile. Highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea, or even cigarette smoking.

Invisalign® »»

Get the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. Invisalign® is an almost invisible way to straighten teeth using a series of custom-made, nearly undetectable aligners. And it’s been proven effective in both clinical research and in practices nationwide. So whether your teeth are crowded, too far apart or have shifted since wearing braces, you’ll have a new reason to smile.

Teeth Whitening »»

    Zoom!® Whitening System
ZOOM! is one of the hottest procedures being offered today.
ZOOM! is an in-office whitening system that is safe, effective and fast. In a little over an hour, your smile may become 6-10 shades whiter. A light is used to activate a gel that gently penetrates the teeth to remove stains.

If you are a candidate for tooth whitening, we offer you a choice between in-office whitening and take home whitening trays, for those who prefer to apply their professional level whitening gels themselves

Full Mouth Reconstruction / Neuromuscular »»

Full mouth reconstruction is the individual restructuring of each and every tooth rather than doing it tooth by tooth over a long period of time, we are able to achieve ideal occlusion (or bite). Sometimes called neuromuscular dentistry, this technique involves a preliminary information-gathering visit. The goal of this (the first of three primary visits) is to determine ideal occlusion. We use special computer diagnostics and neuromuscular methods to relax the jaw muscles. Tension or pain that contributes to TMJ problems are often times a result of poor occlusion and shortened or damaged teeth. Once we know where the muscles and jaw are most comfortable, that information is used to make restorations that honor that position

TMJ Relief and Mouth Guard »»

TMJ Therapy/Customized Dental Appliances for Migraines, Snoring and Night Grinding.  Are you experiencing headaches and/or popping or clicking of the jaw?
TMD is a group of separate but related disorders of the temporomandibular joint and all the associated muscles, ligaments, nerves, etc. Unfortunately, TMDs are the most frequently misdiagnosed of the medical/dental conditions.
We create customized dental appliances to treat TMD, snoring and night grinding. Dental appliances are often part of a cosmetic dentistry treatment plan to protect your new smile.

Composite Bonding »»

Composite bonding is a relatively simple and inexpensive way to correct disfigured, discolored or decayed teeth or close gaps between teeth. After removing the damaged or unsightly portion of the tooth, we apply a composite resin filling that looks and feels remarkably like your enamel to the remainder of the tooth. We then meticulously mold and sculpt the resin to match the tooth's original appearance. Talk to the friendly staff at Weston Dental to see if composite bonding is right for you.

Bridges »»

Bridges can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. They consist of two porcelain crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap left by the missing teeth and a replacement tooth (or teeth, depending on how many are missing) in between. At Weston Dental, our bridges are custom designed to look, feel and function just like your real teeth, restoring both your bite and your appearance. By filling the hole between your remaining teeth, bridges prevent them from gradually drifting out of alignment. Unlike dentures, however, bridges cannot be removed. They are permanently and securely cemented into place, providing lasting support for the life of your smile.

Dentures »»

Dentures are custom designed and individually crafted for a remarkably natural look, fit and feel. Taking into account everything from the shape of your face to the shade of your hair, your Renaissance dentures will resemble your original teeth so closely no one will guess they’re not real. You’ll be able to laugh, chew, swallow, speak and smile without experiencing difficulty or discomfort.

If you’re only missing some of your teeth, our talented team of dental professionals can create a partial denture that will seamlessly fill in the gaps between your remaining teeth.

Night Guard & Snore Guard »»

Custom designed mouthguards and nightguards are made of flexible plastic and molded to fit the shape of your teeth. Mouthguards are recommended to protect the jaw and teeth during physical activity and sports such as boxing, football, basketball, or other activities where your mouth may be hit.  Guards also protect the soft tissues of your tongue, lips and cheek lining.  Nightguards are recommended for patients who clench or grind their teeth at night as a way to protect their teeth and bite.
If you have decided a guard is right for you, we will take an impression of your teeth which will then be sent to a lab to make a custom fit guard.  In most cases you can choose from a variety of colors and styles.
